Delete your account and personal data

This page applies to the FaithShield app and service (the same FaithShield name shown on our app listings). If you use FaithShield with an account, you can request deletion of your account and personal data linked to it using the steps below.

Choose the flow for your platform

Google Play / Android: For now, account deletion requests can be started from this page by emailing support@faithshield.ai using the request steps below.

iPhone / iOS: Account deletion can be initiated directly inside the app from Profile or Settings by tapping Delete Account.

This page will be updated again later as the platform-specific deletion flow evolves.

Google Play / Android: steps to request account deletion and data deletion

Follow these steps in order. We currently use email for this Google Play flow so you have a record of your request.

  1. Open your email (ideally from the same email address you use to sign in to FaithShield).
  2. Send a new message to support@faithshield.ai.
  3. Set the subject line to: Delete Account Request
  4. In the body of the email, include:
    • The email address of the FaithShield account you want deleted (if different from the address you send from).
    • A short note that you want your account and associated personal data deleted.
    • Any detail that helps us confirm you control the account (for example the sign-in method you use).
  5. Send the email. We will process verified requests as described under "Timing and retention" below.

Types of data we delete

After we verify your request, we delete or irreversibly anonymize personal data tied to your FaithShield user account in our systems, including where technically feasible:

  • Account identifiers and profile information (e.g. name, email on file).
  • User-generated content stored for your account (e.g. journal entries, prayer requests, community posts, and similar content you created in the app).
  • Chat, conversation, and AI interaction history associated with your account.
  • Preferences, saved progress, and other app state linked to your account (e.g. reading plans, reminders where stored per user).
  • Other personal data held in our product databases that can be associated with your account.

Types of data we may keep (and why)

Some information is not tied to your identity long term, or must be retained for a limited time:

  • Backups: Residual copies in backups may persist until those backups rotate or expire, then are overwritten (typically within the same overall deletion window below).
  • Security and abuse: Minimal logs needed to prevent fraud, secure the service, or respond to abuse may be kept for a limited period, then deleted or anonymized where no longer needed.
  • Legal and tax: If we are required to retain certain records (e.g. billing disputes, lawful requests), we keep only what the law requires and delete or anonymize when the obligation ends.
  • Fully anonymized data: Aggregated statistics that cannot reasonably identify you may be retained.

Timing and retention period

  • We aim to complete deletion of your account and associated personal data within 60 days of a verified request.
  • Additional retention: As noted above, a limited subset of data may remain for security, legal, or backup reasons for no longer than necessary, and in any case subject to the same categories described under "Types of data we may keep".
  • We may send a short confirmation when your request is received or completed.
